Winery in a Restored Dairy Barn

Bill and Ruth Lautenbach purchased the family farm in 1955 and raised 3 children along with caring for 75 milking cows and acres of cherry orchard.

Their eldest son Robert (Bob) Lautenbach and his family took over the farm in the mid 70's and established a roadside market in 1975. The dairy barn was restored and became the working winery in 1985. The Lautenbach family recently added estate-grown grape wines to their offerings, with these wines named after their three grandchildren. 2013 WATA Member

Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker Joe Widmer

Observation hall, 50 varieties of cheese, sausage.  Widmer's Cellars are known for their Brick cheese - made the traditional way in the same open vats that Cheesemaker Joe's grandfather bought in 1922.  The factory store and viewing area are open daily Monday through Friday between 6:30 am to 5 pm. The National Children's Center for Rural and Agricultural Health and Safety (NCCRAHS) strives to enhance the health and safety of all children exposed to hazards associated with agricultural work and rural environments (www.marshfieldclinic.org/nccrahs). NCCRAHS projects and research initiatives include a wide variety of topics such as agritourism, safe play areas on farms, and work guidelines for hired youth and youth working on family farms. Working with a broad group of stakeholders, NCCRAHS staff developed agritourism health and safety guidelines and easy-to-use checklists to help agritourism operators manage health and safety on the farm. Continuing to work with agritourism operators and other stakeholders, NCCRAHS also created the new website, Integrating Safety into Agritourism (www.safeagritourism.com). The Wisconsin Aquaculture Association is the voice of aquaculture in the State. Winery in a Restored Dairy Barn

Bill and Ruth Lautenbach purchased the family farm in 1955 and raised 3 children along with caring for 75 milking cows and acres of cherry orchard.

Their eldest son Robert (Bob) Lautenbach and his family took over the farm in the mid 70's and established a roadside market in 1975. The dairy barn was restored and became the working winery in 1985. The Lautenbach family recently added estate-grown grape wines to their offerings, with these wines named after their three grandchildren. 2013 WATA Member

The Wollersheim Winery sits on a scenic hillside overlooking the Wisconsin River. This national historic site was first selected for vineyards in the 1840's by the Hungarian Count Agoston Haraszthy. Winery in a Restored Dairy Barn

Bill and Ruth Lautenbach purchased the family farm in 1955 and raised 3 children along with caring for 75 milking cows and acres of cherry orchard.

Their eldest son Robert (Bob) Lautenbach and his family took over the farm in the mid 70's and established a roadside market in 1975. The dairy barn was restored and became the working winery in 1985. The Lautenbach family recently added estate-grown grape wines to their offerings, with these wines named after their three grandchildren. 2013 WATA Member

Winery in a Restored Dairy Barn

Bill and Ruth Lautenbach purchased the family farm in 1955 and raised 3 children along with caring for 75 milking cows and acres of cherry orchard.

Their eldest son Robert (Bob) Lautenbach and his family took over the farm in the mid 70's and established a roadside market in 1975. The dairy barn was restored and became the working winery in 1985. The Lautenbach family recently added estate-grown grape wines to their offerings, with these wines named after their three grandchildren. 2013 WATA Member

The farm is currently owned and operated by third and forth generation farmers - milking 110 cows, raising 100 head of replacement cattle and about 50 holstein steers per year.
The Wilke family raises most of the feed for the herd; crops grown include corn, soybeans, wheat, alfalfa, and oats. 

Approximately 60 acres on the farm are dedicated to growing a variety of vegetables.
